ACS Central:
 Connect. Learn. Recharge.

Make the most of your Clinical Congress experience by visiting the new ACS (American College of Surgeons) Central area, which is located in the San Diego Convention Center, Exhibit Hall, and is open 9:00 am−
4:30 pm Monday through Wednesday.

This new space is designed especially for you—our members. It’s where you will get to meet the staff; learn about the latest ACS programs, products, and services; and purchase ACS merchandise, publications, and educational products. Most importantly, you can make ACS Central your primary gathering space during the meeting. Come by to meet with friends and colleagues, charge up your devices, hear about the programs we have to offer in the ACS Theatre, meet ACS leaders, and simply relax. While there, you also can update your member profile and receive a flash drive containing your own professional photo. Refer to the insert map for the layout of ACS Central.

ACS Central also includes the ACS Theatre, which will feature special sessions on the following ACS programs and products during the lunch hour:

1:15–2:15 pm, Monday

Surgeon Specific Registry

The ACS Surgeon Specific Registry (SSR) is an online quality improvement tool and software application database that allows surgeons to log and track their cases and outcomes in a convenient manner.

11:30 am−12:30 pm, Tuesday

Improving Surgical Care and Recovery (ISCR)

This theatre session will outline ISCR program goals, provide a current status of the first cohort focused on colorectal surgery, and define next steps for the second cohort focused on orthopaedic surgery.

11:30 am−12:30 pm, Wednesday

Optimal Resources for Surgical Quality and Safety (the “red book”)

Attendees will be introduced to key concepts from the manual related to quality, safety, and reliability, and explores the essential elements that all hospitals should have in place to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.

The ACS Theatre also will be used to host ACS Leaders Office Hours. Posters will be located throughout ACS Central outlining the schedule for the day, and alerts will be sent out through the app and ACS social media channels alerting you when these sessions are taking place and when leaders will be present to meet and talk with you and get your feedback on how to improve the ACS.

Select ACS programs also have a presence in the main lobby of the convention center and in the Registration Area. The following booths will be open Sunday through Thursday during Registration hours:

  • ACS Foundation booth and Fellows Leadership Society lounge
  • American College of Surgeons Professional Association-SurgeonsPAC booth
  • Mobile Connect booth
  • Become a Member/Member Services booth, where you can join the ACS, pay your membership dues, or get answers to your questions about your membership

MyCME and Webcast Sales Booths will also be located throughout the Convention Center. These booths will be open the same hours as registration.
