On behalf of the Board of Regents and Officers of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), ACS President Ronald V. Maier, MD, FACS, FRCSEd(Hon), FCSHK(Hon), FCCS(Hon), welcomes attendees to San Francisco, CA, for Clinical Congress 2019. The theme of this year’s conference is For Our Patients, reflecting the central focus of his 2018 Presidential Address.
Valerie W. Rusch, MD, FACS, an esteemed thoracic surgeon from New York, NY, will be installed as the 2019−2020 ACS President at Sunday night’s Convocation. The First and Second Vice-Presidents also will be installed at this event.
In appreciation for his exceptional and continuous service as a Fellow of the ACS, as well as his foresight in recognizing the issues affecting training for surgical residents, the ACS Board of Regents will present its highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award, to R. Phillip Burns, MD, FACS, at Convocation.
