International Spotlight

Latin America Day

The American College of Surgeons will host Latin America Day, an annual session presented entirely in Spanish, 2:30−5:45 pm Monday in the San Diego Convention Center, 6D. This year’s session will be divided into two parts. The first part will address hernia care, including discussions of ventral hernia, use of surgical mesh, robotic hernia surgery, and more. The second half will focus on colon surgery, new insights into diverticular disease, sigmoid volvulus, and robotic and minimally invasive treatments of malignancies. The speakers are experts in their respective disciplines and are from Latin America and the U.S. Ample time will be allotted for attendee interaction with the presenters. The Latin America Day program is cosponsored by the Latin American Federation of Surgery. Todos los cirujanos de habla hispana are welcome to attend and participate in this stimulating surgical discussion.
