Mesh vs a Hybrid Biomaterial – Long Term Clinical Outcomes in Complex Cases

October 17 @ 1:10 pm 1:30 pm

Have you heard of Hybrid mesh for abdominal wall reconstruction and hernia repair?

Please join us for an interactive discussion that will explore the differences between mesh vs a hybrid biomaterial – featuring long term clinical outcomes in complex cases, led by Marcos J. Michelotti, M.D., FACS.

This Innovation Theater symposium will provide general and plastic surgeons the opportunity to learn or further refine their knowledge of abdominal wall and soft tissue reconstruction techniques and hernia repair. Clinical discussions will be supported with didactic instruction, video case presentations and a question and answer session with participants.

Learning outcomes

Participants will:

  • Expand their knowledge and refine techniques associated with complex hernia repairs.
  • Become knowledgeable about biomaterial choices, and the similarities and differences between biosynthetics, biologics and synthetic devices.
  • Understand patient risk factors that may influence choice of repair or biomaterial.
  • Develop a better understanding of robotic surgery, and utilization with these repairs.
