Are you attending the 2019 ACS Clinical Congress with your family?
The Clinical Congress (#ACSCC19) is family friendly. We are also mothers and fathers, and we know what it is to need childcare and parenting resources while away from home at a meeting. You have a dual responsibility to your family and to your career. Here’s what the American College of Surgeons (ACS) offers at Clinical Congress:
Childcare Services
The ACS is once again partnering with ACCENT on Children’s Arrangements to provide an on-site childcare program in San Francisco. ACCENT has prepared an exciting program with activities such as arts and crafts, entertainment, and interactive games designed to give your children the San Francisco experience. The childcare program, which is offered to all children ages six months through 17 years, will be located at the Marriott San Francisco Marquis.
Little Medical School
Little Medical School is an educational enrichment program prepared by board-certified physicians and educators that gives children the opportunity to explore the world of medicine, science, and health in an engaging and fun way. Available for children ages two years and older, this optional program is offered as an add-on option to Camp ACS. Little Medical School will be held at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis, and will be supervised by our licensed childcare provider.
Monday, October 28
9:00 am–12:00 noon
San Francisco Marriott Marquis: $30 per child
Nursing Mothers
A room for nursing mothers will be available at the Moscone Center North, 116, during the meeting.
Meeting Access for Infants
- Children older than one year, and under the age of 16, are not permitted to be in the scientific sessions. Childcare services must be utilized.
- Infants younger than one year old are allowed in sessions when accompanied by a parent or guardian and held in the adult’s arms.
- Guardians are asked to be mindful of the sessions and to maintain a professional and disturbance-free environment at all times, including immediately stepping out of session rooms if the infant becomes fussy.
