The Owen H. Wangensteen Scientific Forum Committee dedicated the abstract supplement to Timothy J. Eberlein, MD, FACS. Introductory remarks for the dedication were given by Ajit K. Sachdeva, MD, FACS, FRCSC, FSACME and Edith Tzeng, MD, FACS, Scientific Forum Committee Chair, and introductory remarks for Dr. Eberlein were given by Lillian S. Kao, MD, FACS.

Following the dedication, Paula M. Termuhlen, MD, FACS, distributed 24 awards for excellence in research. “Scientific Forum Excellence in Research Awards are given to young investigators who scored the highest on their abstracts among the over 2,000 that we received,” Dr. Termuhlen said. “We want to extend our congratulations to the winners, and thank you for sharing your work and your outstanding research with us.”

Finally, the six 2020 ACS Resident Research Scholarship awardees gave brief presentations on their research projects as part of the Resident & Research Scholarship event, introduced by Ali Tavakkoli, MBBS, FACS, Chair, Resident & Research Scholarship committee.
