The opportunity to engage face-to-face with industry leaders and learn first-hand about surgical products and services being introduced to the market will return to the Clinical Congress 2022 Technical Exhibition when this year’s premier surgical conference convenes in San Diego.

More than 210 technical exhibits from 125 companies will be on display October 17–19 at the San Diego Convention Center, featuring the latest innovations in surgery and patient care. The exhibitors, including more than 40 who are new to the Clinical Congress, will represent categories such as surgical devices, robotics, publishing, recruitment, pharmaceuticals, medical billing, patient monitoring, wound management, and more.

The Technical Exhibition, open 9:00 am–4:30 pm Monday through Wednesday, is the optimal place to learn, analyze, and compare surgical devices and products. It will expose attendees to 3 years of innovation from suppliers and service providers as this is the first time since 2019 that this opportunity is taking place in person.

Surgical specialties represented include:

  • General surgery
  • Colon and rectal
  • Pediatric
  • Thoracic
  • Vascular
  • Plastic
  • Urological
  • Otolaryngology
  • Other

The Exhibit Hall is also a networking hub where Clinical Congress attendees can converse and collaborate with friends and colleagues while enjoying a quick bite or a refreshing beverage. Additional features in the hall include the inaugural ACS Surgical Ergonomics Hands-On Clinic (#845) and the return of History of Surgery posters and the Surgical Metrics Project (#1045).

Organized through the work of its Surgical Ergonomics Committee, the ACS Surgical Ergonomics Hands-On Clinic will feature three simulation stations with open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery equipment to offer a hands-on learning experience in surgical ergonomics. Walk-in participation is offered based on availability.

The Surgical Metric Project debuted in 2019 and explores the use of wearable technologies to measure surgical decision-making and technique.

At the center of the action is ACS Central (#825), offering exclusive ACS merchandise from the ACS Central Shop and special member benefits such as a studio where attendees can sit for professional headshots.

Fresh activities take place each day of the Technical Exhibition, making return visits valuable. Industry exhibitors and ACS will host 20-minute Innovation Theater (#551) presentations daily around lunchtime, and the Career Fair will be available daily helping surgeons connect with prospective employers.

Surgeons, residents, medical students, affiliate and allied healthcare professionals, and academics all will find insightful exhibits and demonstrations, as well as opportunities for meaningful engagement.
